A medium sized Hedge Fund in Hong Kong needed increased permanent resource in short timescales. There were 14 roles split across Support, Training, Implementation, Project Management and Development.
Despite the urgency, technical competency and team fit remained key assessment criteria. Within 9 weeks 10 roles had been filled, the remaining 4 being put on hold in order to bed down the new appointments.
With control of the clients’ diary we were free to arrange initial telephone interviews as we saw fit. All but 2 candidates of those telephone interviewed were called to a face to face interview. They were looking to build a development team consisting of exceptional Senior J2EE Developers with extensive open-source experience and the ability to interact with clients.
Through extensive searches and networking we built a strong development team including relocating a number of candidates from Europe. We also continued to recruit other talent throughout the business including infrastructure, testing, production and management.
