Business Analyst - Financial Reporting

Primary Responsibilities:

• Produces the business analysis deliverables with specific focus on financial reporting systems e.g. process maps, requirements documentation, requirements traceability matrices, use cases and scenarios, reports on outcomes and recommendations
• Plans and performs business analysis activities as required, e.g. information gathering, process analysis and design, requirements elicitation, current state analysis, gap analysis, and workshop design and facilitation
• Collaborates with the people required to produce the assigned deliverables, which could include other business analysts, business owners and financial reporting subject matter experts
• Proactively identifies and manages project risks and issues related to their deliverables
• Brings financial reporting expertise to the project and considers the future needs of the global firm
• Collaborates with programme managers, project managers and work stream leads to achieve the project objectives according to scope, time, cost and quality expectations
• Represents the financial reporting work stream at project team meetings and reports on status when the business analysis work stream lead is unable to attend
• Role models exemplary project team behaviours according to the project team commitments and when adopting change


Key Performance Indicators:
• Evidence of accurately capturing financial reporting needs, e.g. in the form of requirements and processes
• Evidence of business analysis deliverables tracking well against agreed scope, time and cost
• Positive feedback from project sponsors, programme and project managers, and business owners on project outcomes


Skills / Experience • 5 years + business analyst experience, preferably in a legal environment
• Experience of Agile working as this is the methodology being employed across the programme
• Demonstrable experience of working with financial reporting systems
• Proven ability to communicate with subject matter experts to understand current state reporting and future requirements
• Strong advisory and facilitation skills as well as strong documentation and process modelling skills in order to explain requirements in sprint planning sessions with developers
• Ability to work collaboratively across the business this is essential


Experience with User stories and Business Objects is also important with this role.
