My client is looking for a highly motivated and analytical professional, our Release and Infrastructure Engineer role within our Market and Credit Risk function, offers a unique opportunity for someone to gain exposure within this interesting and varied business area.
Lending is our business, and with a lending portfolio the size of ours there will always be significant risks to our stability if our customers come into difficulties. It's essential that we balance the need to maintain our strength with our customers' need for capital, and Credit Risk is at the heart of making sure we do that effectively.
In Market Risk our role is to take a position independent of our customer businesses, and identify, measure, monitor, analyse and report on our risk positions in the face of various market outcomes. It's a key advisory role, and crucial to the continuing strength of the bank.
My client is looking for someone to provide technical analysis and associated solutions for environment, build and deploy related issues for a set application in DEV, UAT and production environment and to ensure new code is released properly to environments. As well as this, you'll design and implement processes and tools to support continuous integration and testing throughout the entire software development lifecycle.
You'll perform scheduled and emergency releases into pre-production and production environment, working collaboratively with team members and stakeholders across multiple regions. You effective maintenance of the run books for releases, and participation during weekend releases will enable you to develop strong relationships with the development, production support teams to resolve environment issues in a timely way.
Consistent configuration across all environments like Java versions and Installation paths will be under your remit, along with commissioning new hardware and environments. You'll ensure security for various environments is implemented, such as audit, ensuring configuration and usage from time to time.
What you'll bring
You'll have exposure to areas such as configuration management with subversion and Autosys job scheduling, along with a thorough working knowledge of Java.
You'll have end to end knowledge of the software development life cycle and exposure to distributed cache technologies like Oracle Coherence.
You'll have experience in the following:
• UNIX with an understanding of the OS
• Scripting Languages (at least one of Perl, Shell, groovy)
• SQL - understanding and querying an RDBMS
• CI Tools (at least one of Team City, Hudson, Cruise Control)
